Mojo Spa is a Chicago-based beauty company that hand makes over 200 natural beauty products selling to customers all over the globe. They are known for their cheeky product names, colorful packaging and store displays, and beauty products inspired by popular desserts. The brand takes a unique, all-encompassing approach to beauty focusing on the emotional and mental aspects of feeling good, not just looking good. Many of their products contain positive affirmations, because they believe when you feel good on the inside, you look good on the outside.

Design Objective

While Mojo Spa’s brand positioning and fun products make them unique, they could benefit from updating their packaging in a way that feels more refined and true to the brand. The new packaging for Mojo Spa’s lip gloss line features a clean and modern design that still maintains the friendly, colorful, and playful personality of the brand. In place of the floral illustrations on the current packaging, I created celestial-themed illustrations that better allude to the crystals within each lipgloss.
